Kishtwar Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Kumar Shavan conducted a visit to the District Hospital, main market areas and peripheral zones of the township today to assess the situation following the recent snowfall.
The DC evaluated the healthcare facilities at the District Hospital and held a meeting with the Medical Superintendent to review the availability of essential medicines, medical equipment and resources. He underscored the importance of maintaining high-quality healthcare services, particularly during the harsh winter season, and emphasised the need for efficient healthcare delivery to ensure the well-being of the public.
Touring the township area, the DC inspected the post-snowfall conditions, focusing on road clearance, power restoration and other public amenities.He directed the Executive Officer (EO) of the municipality to ensure efficient snow clearance and improve sanitation in the town. Furthermore, the DC issued instructions to enforce vigilance against land encroachments, ensuring that public spaces are safeguarded.The DC also visited the Chowgan Ground, Kishtwar, to assess its condition after the snowfall. He emphasised the importance of timely maintenance to preserve the ground’s usability and cultural significance.Accompanying the DC during the visit were Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Pawan Kotwal, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Kishtwar Development Authority (KDA) and Programme Officer (PO) of Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Rishi Kumar Sharma, EO Municipality/Deputy Registrar Cooperatives Mirza Mumtaz Iqbal, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr Rajinder Kumar, Medical Superintendent of District Hospital, Yudhveer Singh Kotwal, and other senior officers.
